Adalis Corporation Moves to Vadnais Heights
March 1, 2010 - The pilot plant facility for Adalis Corporation has moved to 3450 Labore Road in Vadnais Heights, MN.

 

Another CPP is in the house!

August 29, 2009 - Congratulations to Mike Mattson, Packaging Engineer at General Mills, Inc. who has achieved his certification.

Since 1972, IoPP has awarded qualified applicants the designation “Certified Packaging Professional (CPP).”  To date, over 1,500 packaging professionals have attained CPP status.

The most recent IoPP salary survey revealed that CPP’s earn between 7% and 10% more than their non-certified co-workers!  Click here for more information.



July 2009 - Congratulations to our award winning members. Two of our members were winners in the Ameristar Awards Competition. The Package submitted by Pam Ulness of Medtronic won in two categories Medical Device and Best of Show. D’Juana Ballard’s package was a winner in the Promotional Category. Jack Grams was selected as an Honorary Life Member.

The awards were presented during the AmeriStar & IoPP Honors & Awards reception on May 19, 2009, at the Packaging Summit '09 in Rosemont, IL.

Speaking on behalf of the entire Minnesota Chapter we are very proud of you. You are a great example of what makes our Chapter so special.

New Stylet Kit Package
New package is 80% smaller than previous design while reducing package waste by 54%. The new design also eliminated PVC from the package. The new downsized package utilizes a clip-less dispenser and DVD case.  Symbols labeling reduced final product configuration from 237 to 42.

Jack J. Grams

Jack is an Account Executive with Caraustar’s Converted Products Group and has been recognized as one of the top three Caraustar folding carton salesmen for 2008.  He joined Society for Packaging and Handling Engineers in 1976 which, as you know, became IOPP.

Jack has held numerous elected and volunteer offices in the IOPP Minnesota Chapter and helped secure its financial security.  At the national level, Jack has chaired the Chapter of the Year Committee. He is presently the IOPP North Central Regional VP for chapters in Wisconsin, Illinois, and MN.  Jack was accepted into IOPP’s College of Fellows in 2004. He has been on advisory boards for educational institutions in MN and has lectured at the University of Wisconsin Stout.

Permaculture Design (http://www.packagedesignmag.com/issues/2007.12/principles.shtml)

Packaging Design Magazine featured an article by Dan Halsey on Permaculture Principles to package design.  This article and related efforts have led to the development of a course at Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD).  Permaculture Design will be on the course list for MCAD's  Sustainable Design Certificate Program. MCAD will be offering the 50 hour on-line course starting in July 2008.
