Dr. Laura Bix to speak at the IoPP 2010 Leadership Conference
As part of its leadership-building agenda, the IoPP Leadership Conference (taking place Sept. 29-30 in St. Louis, MO) includes presentations from packaging experts including Dr. Laura Bix, Michigan State University School of Packaging, who will discuss Universal Packaging Design. Catherine Goodall, EPI and Tim White, Berry Plastics, are also on the agenda. Social events include the Missouri Gateway Chapter Connection Event as well as a tour of Anheuser-Busch. IoPP's Packaging Machinery: Basics course starts in September
Looking for a better understanding of packaging machinery and how it integrates into the package development process? This course offers a unique combination of classroom and hands-on learning with an eye toward reconciling packaging development with machine capabilities. Taking place September 20-22 at Frain Industries in Franklin Park, IL., Packaging Machinery: Basics is taught by John Henry CPP, a 20-plus-year veteran of packaging and plant operations.

IoPP to present the Packaging Learning Center conference program at Pack Expo
The IoPP Packaging Learning Center conference program, taking place November 1-3 during Pack Expo, will give all attendees an opportunity to improve their understanding of packaging's intricacies while finding solutions to their packaging challenges. High-level sessions will focus on topics that are top of mind with packaging professionals. IoPP Technical Committees will lead the sessions, bringing a range of expertise to the program.

IoPP announces AmeriStar Package Competition Call for Entries
AmeriStar showcases the most ground-breaking, innovative, packages of the year. Two new categories have been added: Automotive and Pet & Vet. Early bird deadline for submitting entries is November 30, 2010. Judging is taking place at IoPP Headquarters on January 27, 2011.
