Sustainability: Step 1 = Better Design

Many companies focus mostly on material choices when thinking about packaging and sustainability, but space utilization often can strongly affect the environmental impact as well. A more holistic approach to truly successful sustainable packaging will be discussed in a new IoPP webinar, “Sustainability: Step 1 = Better Package Design.”

The presentation will focus on how to attain the highest density of products in fixed amounts of space. Also find out where and how a package design process is flawed if it follows the old six-step process, in which more packaging is added to survive a laboratory test that probably doesn’t really reflect the types of hazards the package must actually survive.

What you will learn:

  • Best practices for maximizing space density.
  • What packaging engineers need to know to extend their influence in the packaging process.
  • Where and how to find meaningful cost savings—you may not be looking in all the right places.
