Path to Package Integrity

When it comes to package integrity, what’s referred to as “level of assurance” can be rephrased as “what leak size still works for a particular product?” Gray areas exist, and it comes down to how much substrate or organisms will transfer through a leak, and at what level does this transfer of substrate or organisms affect the product. So the real question becomes, What is the “Critical-to-Quality” leak size?

Oliver Stauffer will address these issues in the IoPP webinar “The Path to Package Integrity.”
His presentation will offer insight into understanding and defining the Critical-to-Quality leak size for various package and container formats, and also on how to fully understand package barrier. He will also discuss what happens when a package suffers from an integrity failure.

What you will learn:

  • Understanding and acting on Critical-to-Quality leak size
  • Defining sterile barrier and integrity
  • Characterizing leakage
  • Identifying potential problems
