Hello all from CIC IoPP

We are very happy to announce a tour at Capital Adhesives in Mooresville, Indiana on Monday, June 10, 2013 starting at 5:30 P.M. Dinner to follow afterward. We wish to thank Caesar Watkins and Kerry Crossland for their efforts to set up this informative tour. Capital is a leading manufacturer of adhesives for the packaging, bookbinding, printing, perfect binding, product assembly, labeling, laminating, mailing services, office products, rigid box and packaging industries. Please plan now to see one of the top packaging adhesive companies in the nation.

The board has been working on other future events. Our annual golf outing will be Friday September 13, 2013. Caesar Watkins has a good time planned for all even if it is on Friday the 13^th. The golf outing raises money for scholarships for the students of the packaging program at Indiana State.

Then in October, we will be visiting Indiana State’s Packaging Technology program to meet the students and tour the department.

We still have some openings for officers and chairs in the Central Indiana Chapter. If interested, call me directly or email. We have fun and would like for more packaging professionals to join us.

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to Caesar Watkins on the recent passing of his sister. Caesar is one of the pillars of our chapter and our thoughts were with him during this difficult time.

We look forward to see many of you at Capital Adhesives on June 10, 2013.

TOUR OF CAPITAL ADHESIVES

When: Monday, June 10, 2013 5:30PM – 7:00PM
Where: Capital Adhesives,1260 South Old State Rd 67, Mooresville, Indiana 46158
RSVP: Please either reply to this email or call/text Wayne Funk at (260) 403-7217 so that we can plan for the number who are coming. If you forget to RSVP, come anyway. We will accommodate you.
Arrive Time: Please plan to begin arriving around 5:15 PM.
Dinner: We will meet for dinner afterwards at Squealers Restaurant, 390 East High Street Mooresville, Indiana. Corner of State Road 67 South & 144. A MUST MAKE AS IT IS CAESAR’S BIRTHDAY!!!

3. January 15, 2013 Meeting Report

If you made this meeting /tour, you know what a very informative tour it was of one of the growing packaging firms in Indianapolis.

The meeting was opened at 5:30 P.M.at Fagerdala Packaging with a welcome and the reading of the antitrust policy to the attendees by Vice President Wayne Funk. Wayne introduced our host Jason Short, member of the IoPP Golden Gate Chapter.

Jason Short, from Fagerdala, introduced Santiago Correa, Operation Manager for Fagerdala. Santiago led the plant tour.

After the tour, Jason gave a presentation about Fagerdala's worldwide operations and capabilities. Fagerdala also furnished refreshments for their guests.

There were six CIC members, two Central Ohio Chapter members, one Golden Gate Chapter member and nine outside guests.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30P.M.

IoPP CIC would like to again thank Fagerdala Packaging for opening their doors to us and being such fantastic hosts!!!

A few of the guests met afterward at Coachman Restaurant, Plainfield for networking.

Central Indiana Chapter Institute of Packaging Professionals

If you have been on one our tours or went to the golf outing, you know what a good time we have.

Want to help in making the fun? Then you may want to consider how you can get more involved.

We have a few openings that need to be filled. Fun opportunities and friendship-building experiences await you,

Here is a list of CIC’s outstanding offices committees and what is involved with each:

Treasurer; Our last treasurer did such a good job she got a new job opportunity in a warmer climate. Seriously though, being responsible for the money of a group can only help your resume. We don’t write many checks and is a relatively easy way to be involved. Let is talk to you about it.

Program; Help organize and plan meetings and tours. This is the fun social activity that is the heart of our networking activities. Help is always needed.

Fundraising; CIC’s main fundraiser is the golf outing. What a blast we had at the last one! Great fun outside and helps raise money for scholarships for our students at Indiana State.

Membership; Attracting and recruiting members is also another way to expand your network connections. Folks you associate with in your job usually folks you would like to associate with outside of work.

Education / Certification; If learning more about packaging and/or helping others learn is more to your interest, then this could be your niche. Helping fellow members obtain their Certifications as Packaging Technicians or Packaging Professionals is rewarding and a great service.

Chapter of the Year; Basically a recordkeeping and reporting function. Keep track of our goings on and report to national once a year. Easy and could bring recognition to CIC just for telling our story of what we do.
