Past Activity

On January 27, 2011 eleven members and guest met to discuss the future of the Central Florida I.O.P.P. chapter with the highly experienced packaging professionals that were present.  I was encourage by the excitement and the willingness of those present to participate in the discussions to move the chapter forward. One of the topics we discussed was the format of the future meetings.  We all agreed that the purpose of the meetings was to educate by coordinating activities, seminars and forums on subjects like new packaging technology and packaging trends in the industry. I had the opportunity to talk to a few of the members after the meeting and we came to the consensus, that it would be a good idea to have a meeting where we could discuss the benefits of becoming a member of the IoPP. We decided at the meeting to have our next activity on February 17th and another meeting to coincide with South Pack in Orlando March 16-17, 2011.

Therefore our next meeting will be at:

Happy New Year. I have been in contact with I.O.P.P. headquarters and several of the current members the last few months and we all agree that a I.O.P.P. chapter in Central Florida would be beneficial. Our first meeting will be held at the;

Hilton Garden Inn
4130 Crescent Park Drive.
Riverview, Florida

We will meet at the lobby at 6:30 PM. On Thursday January 13,2010. Even though there are approx. 15 members in the central Florida area, I thought it was a good idea that we meet first with those members interested in working and occupying leadership positions. I will bring to the meeting copies of the Chartered Unit Operations Manual and chapter guide. The chapter guide will give us some good ideas that we can start implementing right away. Even though this meeting will be open discussion I would like to accomplish the following;

1. Distribute the Chapter unit operation Manual and Chapter Guide. (Feel free to bring your own copy)
2. Elect Chapter Officers.
3. Discuss a potential first general meeting.
4. Ideas for membership drive.

Please R.S.V.P.

I am excited that we are finally going to get this chapter going and look forward to working with you to make the I.O.P.P. Central Florida Chapter a great Success !

See you soon!!
