WPO announces WorldStar Awards Call for Entries Winners of the IoPP AmeriStar Packaging Awards Competition are eligible to submit their packages into the World Packaging Organisation's (WPO) globally recognized WorldStar Awards competition. WorldStar Awards are presented to those packages which are compared by an expert panel of judges and deemed to be superior to other packages in their category and market. Deadline for submissions is October 14, 2011. Results will be announced in December 2011 and honored at the WorldStar Ceremony and Dinner in May 2012. UL offers IoPP members opportunity to join Technical Standards Panel The Underwriters Laboratory (UL) is forming a Standards Technical Panel for Sealing, Wrapping, and Marking Equipment, STP 963 and is offering IoPP members an opportunity to apply for membership on this panel. Standards Technical Panels (STPs) serve as technical development committees for UL’s Standards for Safety. Organizations and individuals with an interest or technical expertise in the product covered by a UL Standard assigned to an STP are invited to apply for membership.
