IoPP announces Jim George as Director of Education  
The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) is pleased to announce Jim George as IoPP’s new Director of Education. Jim comes to IoPP with solid journalism and packaging industry credentials. His perspective is shaped by decades in publishing and 12 years in the packaging industry, encompassing print, e-newsletter and social media communications. Jim will be developing and expanding educational programs for IoPP.

AmeriStar and IoPP Honors & Awards Dinner celebrates the best in packaging 
This much-anticipated event took place at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont, IL on the evening of Tuesday, May 10. The program honored the 2011 AmeriStar Award winners and the IoPP members who have provided outstanding service to the packaging community. A networking reception kicked things off with the Awards Dinner immediately after.

Five package design trends discussed at IoPP’s Leadership Conference  
Brand owners and their packaging supply chains that want to stay at the forefront of effective packaging strategies on store shelves should pay attention to current trends, and Jim George, IoPP’s Director of Education, listed five of them in a presentation at IoPP’s Leadership Conference on May 11.

The IoPP Honors & Awards were announced during the AmeriStar & IoPP Honors & Awards reception on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont, IL. Presented awards included Chapters of the Year, Technical Committee of the Year, College of Fellows, Honorary Life Members and Member of the Year.
