Industry Intelligence announces i2partnership with IoPP
Industry Intelligence Inc. partners with IoPP to assist in the IoPP's mission to create opportunities that help packaging professionals succeed. Industry Intelligence Inc., a market intelligence and information management company serving the forest products, packaging, and food and beverage industries announced a new partnership with IoPP through its i2partnership initiative. Through the i2partnership, IoPP members receive access to market intelligence on the packaging industry through Industry Intelligence. IoPP will provide information to its members about the Industry Intelligence service as well as sponsor the company's i2live webinar on flexible packaging on December 5. This webinar - Maintaining Stable Pricing for Flexible Packaging in Times of Turbulent Raw Material Markets and presented by Liam Barbary, Owner, Benchmark Consulting - will focus on challenges in maintaining stable pricing for flexible packaging in times of raw material market uncertainty.

Upcoming IoPP webinar focused on source reduction's effects on distribution
Companies today are looking to gain every possible time, cost and energy-savings efficiency in the transportation of their packaged products. Lightweighting is a strategy that has become more prominent in the distribution environment. It entails tactics such as using thinner package walls and finding alternative materials to gain efficiencies that lower transportation costs. However, lightweighting, also known as source reduction, comes with its own challenges, if not done carefully. Join IoPP for a Dec. 13 webinar for some tips and strategies to benefit your operations in the presentation Lightweighting (Source Reduction) and Its Effects on Distribution. Pat Nolan, President of DDL Inc., will be the speaker, and the webinar is made possible through IoPP’s Transport Packaging Committee.

New chemical packaging guidebook in IoPP bookstore!
IoPP’s online  bookstore has a new arrival! Chemical Packaging Guidelines, Fourth Edition, has been revised and updated by IoPP’s Chemical Packaging Committee, and is written for today’s professionals in the packaging and transport of products in the chemical industry. This book contains an updated Packaging Implementation Guide and is loaded with tips and suggestions for responsible chemical packaging management. 2013 Fundamentals of Packaging Technology dates announced
Start the new year right, expand your packaging knowledge and advance your career! IoPP's Fundamentals of Packaging Technology will be offered starting in January in Orlando, Florida. Semester 1 is taking place January 28-30; Semester 2: January 30-February 1; Semester 3: February 25-27; and Semester 4: February 27 - March 1. If you don’t have a packaging degree or if you need more knowledge to deliver solutions drawn from an increasingly complex number of options, then IoPP's Fundamentals of Packaging Technology course helps span the gap. It teaches you about every major segment of packaging. If you make one resolution for the New Year, resolve to grow professionally!

Can't attend Fundamentals in person? Take courses online!
Whether in your office or sitting in your living room, Fundamentals of Packaging Technology is now available in a series of online courses. IoPP's online learning program includes 42 prerecorded Fundamentals modules and more than 25 hours of content. Each narrated session begins with an overview and ends with both a review and a quiz, enabling you to test your information retention of key information presented in the lesson. Online Fundamentals enables you to take either the entire seminar or select and pay for only the modules you want and complete lessons as your schedule allows. Now there's no excuse to start your packaging training - you can take courses at your own pace from wherever you are!
