IoPP partners with ITC, UCIMA for Italian Packaging Technology Awards

IoPP is proud to announce a partnership with the Italian Trade Commission and the Italian Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association to resume the Italian Packaging Technology Awards Program in 2014. The program is organized by ITC and UCIMA, in which in a junior, senior or graduate-level academic program can compete for the awards, which demonstrate their packaging expertise. Efforts by manufacturers to improve the way they label and package drugs — prompted by new guidelines issued by the FDA just over a year ago — have been largely successful, according to the Institute for Safe Medication Practices. The recommendations have made many companies prioritize the information on labels, avoid too similar designs among different products and standardize ways to indicate drug strengths.
