IoPP releases Fundamentals of Packaging Technology, Fifth Edition with new content and updates from nearly 100 industry experts

The Institute of Packaging Professionals’ Fundamentals of Packaging Technology, Fifth Edition is now available. Updated and expanded by about 100 subject matter experts from across the packaging industry, it is the most comprehensive and authoritative textbook on packaging technology.

Over 748 pages, Fundamentals, Fifth Edition covers all the major areas of packaging. It is ideal for anyone who needs a thorough grounding in packaging, or who needs to fill in gaps in their knowledge. The new edition adds chapters on packaging law and sustainability and the environment, an expanded section on pharmaceutical packaging and new discussions on digital printing, e-commerce, smart packaging, private label and supply chains, and more.

“Fundamentals of Packaging Technology, Fifth Edition, is the definitive authority for the industry, improved significantly by veteran experts working in packaging today,” says Pat Farrey, IoPP Executive Director. “Notably, it includes research and contributions from the leading packaging associations, as well as some of IoPP’s technical committees. You’re getting the most authoritative and current information available.”

To which Jim George, IoPP Director of Education adds, “For the first time, we have added an answer key for all the review questions at the end of each chapter. This adds significant value for the Fifth Edition to be used as a study guide for those who want to attain certification through IoPP, and also for those who merely want to test their content retention and comprehension throughout the book.”

Each chapter contains new and updated information, photos, illustrations and tables. Readers will also see numerous references to websites for additional reading. Order Fundamentals of Packaging Technology, Fifth Edition in the IoPP bookstore.
