IoPP’s Medical Device Packaging Technical Committee’s hot topic—Fundamentals course development. There is significant need to educate junior-level engineers and those new to packaging on the basics of packaging specific to medical devices. In this interactive session, MDPTC members will describe the industry’s need for experienced packaging engineers in the medical community and lead a discussion designed to generate ideas for the outline of a packaging fundamentals curriculum for the medical device industry. Forum Session - Session 2: “Addressing Transportation Questions in Today’s Ever-Changing Marketplace”

Experts in various aspects of transportation methods utilized in today’s marketplace will provide an overview and advice on how to select and test packaging so it meets your package requirements. In addition to e-commerce, packaging engineers are designing packaging that must meet requirements for other types of transportation on a global platform; it must be cost-efficient to optimize ever-increasing transportation costs. In this session, you will hear of and discuss key considerations to determine the type of packaging and testing you will should perform to ensure your package is delivered intact to your customer.
