IoPP Awards Ceremony to Highlight EastPack Show

AmeriStar winners will be honored at Philadelphia event in June

IoPP recently announced that this year's winners of the AmeriStar Package Awards Competition will be honored during a ceremony a June 19 at the EastPack conference and exposition in Philadelphia.

Since 1945, the annual AmeriStar competition has recognized the most innovative packaging in frozen, refrigerated, and shelf stable foods; alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; drug & pharmaceutical; cosmetics; electronics; health & beauty aids; household products; industrial/commercial products; medical devices; promotional/display; private label; and other categories.

"Packaging has become a key differentiator among products and innovative package design generates retail distribution, communicates important product attributes, increases product sales, and ensures their safe distribution," said IoPP's executive director Patrick Farrey. "We decided that EastPack is the right platform from which to present the AmeriStar awards because of its proximity to the largest number of manufacturers in the U.S. and the added visibility that winners will gain via the multiple shows produced annually by UBM Canon."

Launched in 1985 and now produced by UBM Canon, EastPack is the most comprehensive packaging trade show on the East Coast, and a core component of a comprehensive integrated manufacturing event that includes Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) East, Automation Technology Expo (ATX) East, Atlantic Design & Manufacturing, PLASTEC East, Pharmapack North America, and Sustainability in Manufacturing.

"We are delighted to bring the best examples of packaging innovation to EastPack and to recognize the winners in a ceremony at our show," said UBM Canon's event director Howard Friedman. "The AmeriStar winners will also receive additional exposure in the largest manufacturing centers of the U.S. through our lineup of packaging shows."
