Premier webinar - Packaging for a Sustainable Tomorrow series

Turning EPR Fees Into Packaging Decisions With AI

Thursday, November 19, 2026
11 AM - 12 PM (EST)

Extended producer responsibility (EPR) is changing how companies evaluate packaging costs. With new state requirements and eco-modulated fees taking shape, decisions about packaging materials, weight, and design can directly affect what producers pay.

But making informed decisions requires reliable data, and for many organizations, that information is still scattered across supplier emails, spreadsheets, and technical documents.

How can AI help packaging teams turn that data into better decisions?

In this Premier webinar, part of our Packaging for a Sustainable Tomorrow series, Tom Preston draws on 20 years of packaging experience with Kraft Heinz, Unilever, and Avon to examine how AI can support EPR compliance and packaging design.

Presented through our Sustainable Packaging Technical Committee, the session covers:

  • What's ahead for EPR: Upcoming state requirements, deadlines, and essential packaging data.
  • Where AI can help: Collecting supplier information, identifying data gaps, and maintaining reliable compliance records.
  • How EPR can inform design: Modeling fees, comparing materials, and identifying opportunities to reduce packaging costs.

This Premier webinar is free for Premium and Elite members. Basic members and non-members can attend for $99.
