Mobility-related disabilities affect a significant portion of the U.S. population, and nearly 60 million Americans live with arthritis. Similar challenges exist around the world. But physical limitations aren't the only reason consumers may struggle with packaging. Everyday situations, such as trying to open or use a package with one hand while holding an infant with the other, can create usability challenges, too. These challenges present an opportunity for packaging professionals to think differently about design. On October 29, a panel of experts immersed in inclusive design will discuss how packaging can better meet a wider range of consumer needs. Thoughtful design solutions can improve accessibility and usability, help products stand apart on the shelf, and strengthen the consumer experience. The panel will examine successful examples of inclusive packaging, lessons from inclusive design beyond the packaging industry, and what the future could hold. We’ll also look at the Arthritis Foundation’s Ease of Use Certification program and packaging design guidance. This Premier webinar is free for Premium and Elite members. Basic members and non-members can attend for $99. Register now to hear how inclusive design can create new opportunities for packaging and the people who use it. |

Rocky Batzel A native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Rocky earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Marywood University and initially pursued a career in medicine. That experience inspired him to change career paths and develop the first prototype of what would eventually become SnapSlide. After securing patent protection for the technology, Rocky formed a company around his design.
