Dear Friends:

The Central Indiana Chapter (CIC) Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) are coordinating efforts, hoping to enlist your support and/or participation in the Annual CIC IoPP Golf Scramble.

The primary direction of the IoPP Golf Scramble is to create a sustainable fund that presents the Indiana State University Student Chapter with opportunities to fund educational trips, purchase new equipment, or supplies, or sponsor academic scholarships. The Central Indiana IoPP Chapter plays a large role in educating these packaging students on current events within the packaging community.

This year’s scramble is scheduled for Friday, September 16th at Valle Vista Golf Club; with a tee time of 1:00 p.m. Registration is at 12:30 PM. The scramble will be followed by a dinner (provided free if you are playing in the event) and awards (Cash Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.2 Closest to the Pin and 2 Longest Drive awards ), and a raffle drawing. ($1.00-50/50 raffle) and $5.00 Mullins can be purchased on Pay Pal. Limit of 4). Those who are not golfing can enjoy the dinner and fun for $25.00. Please send your entries in early to assure your team a spot in our event. The rain date is Friday September 23th, same place, same start time.

You can support the Central Indiana IoPP Chapter by:

  • Sponsor a team for $300.00; all golfers receive complimentary gifts and a meal.

  • Sponsor a hole or contest for $100. Your name will be printed on a sign to be placed at the tee box at one of the scramble holes. This is great advertising for any business or a wonderful way for individuals to show their support for Indiana State University Student IoPP Chapter.

  • Make a general contribution of either a cash donation (any amount).

If you have been on one our tours or went to the golf outing, you know what a good time we have.

Want to help in making the fun?  Then you may want to consider how you can get more involved.

We have a few openings that need to be filled.  Fun opportunities and friendship-building experiences await you,

Here is a list of CIC’s outstanding offices committees and what is involved with each:

Treasurer;   Our last treasurer did such a good job she got a new job opportunity in a warmer climate.  Seriously though, being responsible for the money of a group can only help your resume.  We don’t write many checks and is a relatively easy way to be involved.  Let is talk to you about it.

Program;   Help organize and plan meetings and tours.   This is the fun social activity that is the heart of our networking activities.  Help is always needed.

Fundraising;   CIC’s main fundraiser is the golf outing.   What a blast we had at the last one!  Great fun outside and helps raise money for scholarships for our students at Indiana State.

Membership;  Attracting and recruiting members is also another way to expand your network connections.   Folks you associate with in your job usually folks you would like to associate with outside of work.

Education / Certification;  If learning more about packaging and/or helping others learn is more to your interest, then this could be your niche.   Helping fellow members obtain their Certifications as Packaging Technicians or Packaging Professionals is rewarding and a great service.

Chapter of the Year Basically a recordkeeping and reporting function.   Keep track of our goings on and report to national once a year.   Easy and could bring recognition to CIC just for telling our story of what we do.

Call myself or any other officer if you have any questions or, wish to get started.
