2021 Recipients

Congratulations to the 2021 IoPP Packaging Education Scholarship Fund Scholarship Winners!

Continuing a tradition of supporting packaging education and raising awareness of packaging education and careers in the packaging industry, IoPP is pleased to announce this year’s IoPP Packaging Education Scholarship Fund winners!

The PepsiCo R&D Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship awarded to one student in their Junior or Senior year, who is pursuing a degree in a course of study relevant to a career in the packaging industry.

This year's winner is:

Grace Ellis
Michigan State University

Grace is a packaging student at Michigan State University, graduating in May 2022. Grace's co-op experience at PepsiCo and Nestlé have solidified her interest in food and beverage packaging. She enjoys the fast paced, high energy, field of consumer-packaged goods. Her packaging career goals are to continuously drive productivity, identify optimization opportunities, and develop sustainable packaging alternatives.

 

The IoPP Packaging Education Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to two students, who are also in their Junior or Senior year, who are pursuing a degree in a course of study relevant to a career in the packaging industry.

Anna Kent
University of Wisconsin - Stout

Anna is a packaging student at University of Wisconsin - Stout, graduating in May 2023. She is currently an intern at Boston Scientific in Maple Grove, MN. She plans to work in consumer industry or the medical industry after earning her graduation.

Seohee Jang
Conestoga College

Seohee is a packaging engineer technician student at Conestoga College, graduating in August 2021. She wants to devote her career and focus on creating a sustainable future for generations to come. She hopes to become a packaging engineer who can engage in a company's interests, who has a vision on eco-friendly packaging and is an industry leader in it.

 

The IoPP Central Ohio Chapter participates in the IoPP Packaging Education Scholarship, awarding one student with $1,000 scholarship.

This year’s winner is:

Wallace Layman
North Carolina State University

Wallace is a dual degree student, Paper Science and Engineering and Chemical Engineering, at North Carolina State University, graduating in December 2023. He is currently on a pulp mill co-op at the WestRock Hopewell, VA, linerboard mill.

 

The IoPP New England Chapter participates in the IoPP Packaging Education Scholarship, awarding one student with a $500 scholarship.

This year’s winner is:

Haliah Offutt
Illinois State University

Haliah is a graphic communications major at Illinois State University, graduating in 2022. Her goal is to create the best quality designs and improve on production processes for digital and print output for faster and a more streamlined process.
