2022 Recipients

Congratulations to the 2022 IoPP Packaging Education Scholarship Fund Scholarship Winners!

Continuing a tradition of supporting packaging education and raising awareness of packaging education and careers in the packaging industry, IoPP is pleased to announce this year’s IoPP Packaging Education Scholarship Fund winners!

 

The PepsiCo R&D Scholarship is a $5,000 scholarship awarded to one student in their Junior or Senior year, who is pursuing a degree in a course of study relevant to a career in the packaging industry.

2022 Winner

Anna Kent
University of Wisconsin - Stout

Anna Kent is a packaging student at University of Wisconsin - Stout, graduating in May 2023.

She is a board member for the Packaging Association club, works in a packaging lab and is very involved in other packaging chapters and events.

 

 

The IoPP Packaging Education Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to two students, who are also in their Junior or Senior year, who are pursuing a degree in a course of study relevant to a career in the packaging industry. 

2022 Chemical Packaging Committee Scholarship Winner

Wallace Layman
North Carolina State University

Wallace Layman is dual majoring in paper science and engineering and chemical engineering at North Carolina State University and will be graduating in December 2023.

Wallace has nine months of industry experience as a pulp mill process engineer at the WestRock, Hopewell, VA paper mill. He also has over 7 months of undergraduate research experience with the paper science and engineering department.

2022 Medical Device Packaging Committee Scholarship Winner

Minhee Han
Rutgers School of Engineering

Minhee Han is a packaging engineering student at Rutgers School of Engineering and will be graduating in May 2022.

According to Minhee, packaging is a place where she feels she can make impactful change for the earth, while being creative and exercising engineering rigor.

 

 

The IoPP Central Ohio Chapter participates in the IoPP Packaging Education Scholarship, awarding one student with $1,000 scholarship.

2022 Winner

Joanne (Miloo) Hong
Conestoga College

Joanne (Miloo) Hong is a student in the packaging engineering technician program at Conestoga College. 

Miloo hopes to become a packaging structural designer after successfully completing her college program.

 

The IoPP New England Chapter participates in the IoPP Packaging Education Scholarship, awarding one student with a $500 scholarship.

2022 Winner

Julia Lucas
Rochester Institute of Technology

Julia Lucas is a packaging science major at Rochester Institute of Technology, graduating in May 2023.

Julia currently works as a packaging laboratory technician and packaging teaching assistant, in order o best set herself up with the most knowledge and experience upon graduation.
