Bush Brothers manager to discuss Total Cost Ownership in IoPP session at Pack Expo Robby Martin is an “ideas” person, and he will bring this approach to Pack Expo Las Vegas Sept. 26 when he discusses “Total Cost Ownership: A Brand Owner’s Key for Managing Vendors.” Martin is Senior Engineering Project Manager at Bush Brothers & Co. Martin will discuss where and how relationships play important roles in successfully achieving Total Cost Ownership goals in the procurement and implementation of new processes and packaging equipment. WPO announces WorldStar Student Awards competition Call for Entries The World Packaging Organisation's (WPO) WorldStar Student Awards competition is for students from countries around the world to develop projects in the field of packaging design. The WorldStar Student Awards, with its wide publicity throughout WPO’s global publications, will provide an opportunity for the winners to gain professional acknowledgement and entrance into a career as a packaging professional. The WorldStar Student Awards competition, organized by China National Export Commodities Packaging Research Institute (CEPI), will be a forum for the world’s student population to contribute its creativity in packaging design. Southeastern Chapter Nextpack event draws record attendee numbers On May 19, the IoPP Southeastern Chapter held its second annual “NextPack” summit. 250 professionals registered for this event held at Coca-Cola’s World Headquarters in Atlanta, GA. This number trumped the chapter’s inaugural event last year by about 50%. 22 corporate sponsors also participated by showcasing their offerings in NextPack’s exhibition space.
